The Optimal Path Podcast explores how today's leading organizations leverage user research to inform better product decision-making.
Our goal for this project was to refresh the branding of our podcast, The Optimal Path. Similar to the work we did for Disco Conf, we aimed to refine the podcast’s brand to better align with our enterprise audience. We retained the logo created by our previous brand designer, ensuring continuity, while removing elements that no longer resonated with The Optimal Path.
One of the key changes was the color palette. The original primary color, pink, felt disconnected from the Maze brand and the podcast's mission. By reimagining the palette, we brought the branding into closer alignment with the professional, research-focused identity we wanted to project.
This is the vision I had for the podcast's branding—a balance between staying true to its roots and evolving to resonate with an enterprise audience. While the final implementation took a different creative direction, my approach was rooted in creating a consistent brand system. It was an opportunity to reimagine The Optimal Path in a way that honored its unique voice while positioning it to connect more effectively with its target audience.

Through this brand refresh, we successfully redefined The Optimal Path to better resonate with our enterprise audience while staying true to its core purpose. The thoughtful balance of preserving key elements and introducing new directions allowed us to create a cohesive and professional identity. This project reinforced the importance of aligning branding with audience expectations while maintaining the unique character that makes the podcast stand out.
